Professional Bio

Dr. Gowri Palanissami is a Siddha Physician with in-depth knowledge of ethnic herbs and mineral medications and in treating chronic diseases like asthma, diabetes, gastric and neuromuscular ailments. She also provides medical counseling in resolving modern-day reproductive health issues and in preventing the incidence of diabetes, obesity, and cancers. In addition to the BSMS degree, she has also did Post Graduation in Biomedical Genetics. Currently, she is pursuing a PhD in Human Genetics (Doctoral Researcher in Cancer Genetics and Drug Discovery) at Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research. She is trained in Varma and Yoga and has 13 years of clinical experience.

Dr. Gowri Palanissami has her patent filed for Novel Anti-cancer Drug Formulation (Pre-clinical Trials) – Sri Ramachandra University, Chennai in 2017. She has achieved the following:

• Presented and published scientific paper in 25th International Student Congress of Medical Sciences, University Medical Centre Groningen, the Netherlands - 2018.
• Published journals in International Journal of Hormones and Cancer (Discover Oncology) on Complex Oncogenic Molecular Networks and Potential Drug Candidates for Cancer, Springer Nature, Switzerland - 2018.
• Secured all India 29th rank in Council of Scientific and Industrial Research - CSIR UGC NET Lectureship - 2011.
• First student coordinator of Institution Innovation Council (IIC) - Sri Ramachandra University, Chennai - 2019.
• Recipient of Meritorious Fellowship for Doctoral Research in Cancer, Sri Ramachandra University, Chennai - 2013.
• Recipient of Merit scholarship for Best Academic Performance in MSc Biomedical Genetics, VIT Vellore - 2011.
• First prize for presenting the research project - Glycation and Diabetes, in MSc Biomedical Genetics, VIT Vellore - 2011.
