Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I want to gain weight. Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I just read your query. You did not mention your height, weight, or any previous history, if any. The weight of a person should be proportional to their height. You can calculate this using BMI (body mass index). If your BMI is below 18.5, then you are underweight, and you need to gain weight.
First of all, take a healthy diet. Include carbohydrates, proteins, and fats in proportional amounts. You need all of them. Add milk to your diet, as it helps in weight gain. You can take two eggs daily if you used to take them. A banana with milk is a good combination for weight gain. You can also get a diet chart from a dietician if you want. Do exercises that will increase your muscle bulk because if muscle bulk increases, it will help in gaining weight. You can learn these types of exercises from a gym nearby or from professional trainers.
You can use Ayurvedic granules named Nutrigain (Ashwagandha, Amla, Vatada) to gain weight. These granules contain substances like Ashwagandha, Draksha, and Khajur, which have weight gain properties. Take two teaspoons of these granules twice a day with lukewarm water or preferably with milk. Do not smoke or drink. Sleep adequately for six to eight hours daily.
I hope this has helped you.
Kindly follow-up if you have more doubt.
Thank you.
