How to get rid of piles and constipation through ayurveda?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 55-year-old male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, and my weight is 152 pounds. I have been suffering from piles for over three years, but there is no bleeding. I constantly feel a sensation in my anus that troubles me while walking. I have noticed swelling in my right wrist and feet almost every morning. My blood pressure was high, around 160-200, over the past three to four years, but it is now normal. My blood sugar is also normal. In a urine test, sugar and albumin were absent, with pus cells at 1-2 hpf and occasional epithelial cells. My serum glucose level was 110 mg. I am currently using Pilorute cream and Hamdoroid capsules, but they have not been very effective. My doctor suggested surgery, but I am not ready for it.

Please suggest a remedy.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

How is your bowel movement now? Do you have constipation?

Kindly respond with the answers to the above questions. Here are my suggestions to reduce your piles problems:

  1. It is better for you to use a Western-style toilet.
  2. Avoid curds, non-vegetarian food, green chilies, deep-fried, and spicy foods in your diet.
  3. Take a sitz bath after passing stools every day to keep your genital and anal regions clean.
  4. Apply Kasisadi taila (iron sulfate oil) with cotton to the piles twice a day.
  5. Take two tablets of Kankayan vati after food, twice daily, with warm water.
  6. Include onions, buttermilk, and suvarna gadde (yam) in your diet. Drink warm water.

Regularly check your blood pressure and sugar levels without fail. Please revert back after 15 days for a follow-up.

I hope this has helped you. Please feel free to reach me again, in case of further queries.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

I do not feel any relief even after taking the medicines you prescribed. I am still experiencing a sensation in my anus. I am following the diet as per your advice, but I cannot find the reason behind it.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

  1. How about the pile mass? Do you notice any difference in the anal region?
  2. What exactly is the sensation you are experiencing in the anus? Is it itching, pricking, or cutting pain?
  3. Do you feel the need to visit the toilet repeatedly?

Please respond with the answers to the above questions.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

I have been taking Abhayarista, Triphala churna, and Arsh Kalp ointment as per your advice for the last 15 days. I have experienced some relief, but constipation is still troubling me. I am having difficulty passing stools again. I am having lunch late, around 3 pm, and experiencing significant gastric trouble. Kindly advise me on how to get rid of constipation permanently.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

  1. You can use four teaspoons of Abhayarista instead of three teaspoons.
  2. Try finding Yashtimadhu Eranda Yamaka. If you cannot find this medicine, take half teaspoon of castor oil with hot water at bedtime. Be careful with the dose, as it may cause strong purgation.
  3. Soak ten raisins in water overnight, crush them the next morning, and drink them along with the water.
  4. Boil one teaspoon of jeera in 33.8 ounces of water and use this water for drinking instead of regular water.

In your next query, please mention your diet pattern in detail. Please revert with your diet pattern.
