This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have been suffering from insomnia for a few years. I had also taken some sleeping pills. Now, I am willing to take Ayurveda treatment. Please suggest.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Insomnia is a disorder of sleeplessness. There are several causes that cause this condition, like stress, anxiety, disturbed lifestyle, disturbed sleeping routine, or other medical conditions. It can be managed naturally through ayurvedic medicines and procedures. Panchakarma therapy is one of the best options. There is another method called Shirodhara. You can take oral medications and meditation.

Treatment includes:

  1. Brahmi ghrita (Brahmi, Vacha, Kushta, Shankhapushpi) one spoon in the morning on an empty stomach.
  2. Manasamitra Vati (Bala, Nagbala, Bilwa): one tablet twice a day after meals.
  3. Jatamansi Churna (Balchhad): one tablet twice a day after meals.
  4. Saraswataristam (Brahmi, Vidarikand, Shatavari, Ginger): one tablespoon twice a day with an equal amount of water after meals.

Along with medications, you should try to resolve your disturbed schedule, stress, and anxiety. Avoid spicy and fried junk foods. Avoid smoking and drinking if you have these habits. Do regular yoga like Surya namaskar and pranayamas. Do meditation in your daily routine.

I hope this helps.

Please revert so I can assist you further.

Thank you.
