This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I experience anxiety and would appreciate your advice on herbs that may help reduce it. Please help.

Thank you.

Answered by Dr. Alka

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

I suggest you follow the following medicines:

1. Take Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) capsules twice a day after meals for one month.

2. Take Brahmi (Bacopa monnieri) capsules twice a day after meals for one month.

3. If you experience insomnia or difficulty sleeping, take Tagra (Valerian wallichii) capsules twice daily at night for one month. Consult your doctor and take medicines accordingly.

Additionally, start brisk walking for at least 30 to 60 minutes daily. Incorporate yoga and exercise into your daily routine, and practice breathing exercises such as pranayama and anulom vilom. Engage in activities you enjoy, like dancing or painting, to help distract your mind and reduce anxiety. Spend quality time with family, friends, and people who bring you joy, and discuss your concerns with your loved ones.

Consume more fresh fruits and vegetables, and ensure you get six to eight hours of sleep each night. Avoid using laptops, mobile phones, and televisions for one to two hours before bedtime. Aim to go to bed around 10 p.m. Consider having a cup of milk before bed mixed with almond powder and honey to support restful sleep. Try these recommendations consistently, and you should begin to see positive results.

I hope this helps you.

Thank you.

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

I used to take Clonafit Beta tablets at night, but this medication has been discontinued.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Clonazepam and Propranolol tablets are prescribed to treat mild anxiety. You may continue to take these medications as directed. Additionally, you can take the medicine I prescribed along with these tablets, but be sure to maintain a gap between them.

Thank you.

Please let me know if you need any help.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

I chew tobacco. Does it have any effect on anxiety?

Answered by Dr. Alka

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Tobacco does not have direct effects on anxiety but can contribute to adverse health effects that may lead to it. To address this issue, eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, drink plenty of water, and consider chewing gum.

I hope this helps you.

Thank you.
