How long is Ayurveda therapy for rheumatoid arthritis?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have rheumatoid arthritis and take trikatu, sinhanad guggul, and shallaki. I also use psyllium and ginger tea. I receive massages with sesame oil and maharana yana oil. How long should I continue this therapy to feel better? Is this therapy appropriate? What is your experience with rheumatoid arthritis?

Please suggest.

Answered by Dr. Alka

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

The medications you are taking are beneficial, but rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease, meaning you may need to take medication long-term. The effects of rheumatoid arthritis vary from patient to patient. In some individuals, with proper treatment, further joint damage can be prevented, while in others, it may persist even with medication.

Therefore, I advise you to follow your doctor's recommendations and periodically repeat your investigations. Additionally, ask your physician about Panchakarma therapy, as it can also be helpful in managing rheumatoid arthritis.

I hope my answer is helpful to you.

Thank you.
