This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had hemorrhoids for four to five years. It causes bleeding and pain, and there is a wart on the outer side of the anus. Can you please help me?

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Hemorrhoids are also known as piles. In hemorrhoids, some tissues protrude out along with the stools during defecation, and it may go back by itself (first grade) or manually (second grade). It may or may not bleed. Sometimes, it has pain and a burning sensation due to passing hard stool.

The first and second grades of hemorrhoids can be managed naturally through ayurvedic medicines, lifestyle changes, and altering food habits. Practice everything I have suggested to you regularly for 15 days and provide your valuable feedback.

I hope that you get your answer.

Please let me know if you want some help.

Thank you.

The Probable causes

Other conditions that mimic piles are- anal fissures, colitis, or IBS (irritable bowel syndrome).

Treatment plan

1. Take Abhayarishtam tonic (Haritaki, Vidanga, Madhuka Kusuma) three teaspoons with an equal amount of water after meals twice a day. 2. Take one Himalaya Pilex tablet (Sensitive Plant and Zinc Calx) twice a day with lukewarm water after meals.

Preventive measures

Preventive measures include avoiding spicy, fried, and junk food, quitting smoking and alcohol drinking (if you have these habits), drink plenty of lukewarm water, do regular pranayam kapalbhati, mandukasana and ardhamatyendrasana.
