Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am a mother of a 3-year-old. My son is suffering from a cold and cough. He vomits whenever he coughs continuously. Also, he gets cold and coughs very often in the last year. Until 15 months of age, he did not get even a single episode of cold or a cough. I am so worried about him now. His cough is very severe at night, and he did not sleep yesterday due to a constant cough. He never gets a runny nose, and I am very much concerned about this. This time, he had a fever and cold initially, and his cough started after four days. Also, he lost weight due to a cough. He maintained good weight till 1.5 years of age and nowadays, it is very hard for him to gain weight.
Please help.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
A constant cough leads to vomiting, and that will expel the sputum. It is the body's natural mechanism. Nothing to worry. Please check whether the bed or the floor (where he lives) is dusty. Maintain the environment clean. Wash the bed sheets frequently and dry them in the sunlight. There are certain bugs or insects (small in size) in bed or clothes that may also be responsible for a cough at this age.
To improve his immunity, please follow the below advice:
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
