Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 35-year-old male. I have been primarily suffering from a headache on the right side of the head above the ears for many years. The headache is almost always there. Even when I wake up at night to go to the toilet, I can feel a slight headache. I do not feel fresh when I wake up in the morning. I feel dull and sleepy. The severity of the headache varies depending on the quality of sleep the earlier night. Due to a continuous headache, my sleep is getting disturbed and sometimes I have a slight pain in my left shoulder and the left side of the neck too. Recently, I felt a slight pain in the left part of my buttocks too. I did an MRI several times including this month, but the doctor said that there is nothing to worry about as the report is fine. He also mentioned that there are fewer chances of it being a migraine headache. Due to all these health issues, I am stressed out and fear the worst all the time.
Recently, I fell off the train. Since then, I have developed a fear of falling unconscious when traveling alone. I feel depressed and have unknown fears. I recently realized that it is happening mainly due to anxiety and depression. I have been trying different allopathy medicines for muscle relaxation and good sleep for a year, but it has not helped much. My medical report status is as follows. The brain MRI report is normal. Blood test, all vital elements are normal. Urine is normal. The stool test is normal. ECG is normal and BP is 120/72. I am currently taking Rivotril 5 mg twice a day, Sertraline 25 mg twice a day, Myonal/Eperisone 50 mg thrice a day, and Depas 5 mg before sleep.
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I just read your query.
As you know, the cause of all your problems is anxiety disorder and depression. Taking allopathic medicines or any medication for this problem for a long duration will eventually make you dependent on them, and it would become hard for you to leave the medicines. So take medicine till it is necessary. Then start decreasing it gradually and ultimately stop it. Along with the medicines, lifestyle and dietary changes are very important. Improve your lifestyle and take your diet as medicine, so you will not have to take medicine as food. Hope you understand this point. Along with allopathic medicines, take this Ayurvedic treatment for some time, and you will soon feel positive results.
Along with scalp massage, do gentle massage of your body once or two times a week, and after one hour of massage take a bath with lukewarm water. Whenever you feel excessive pain in different body parts, take Maha Narayan oil (Aswagandha, Bilva, Gokhuru) and do gentle massage with it of your whole body or of that particular body part. You can do a massage with it two times a day or whenever required. Try to avoid watching television, laptop, and mobile one to two hours before sleep as their blue light hinders regular sleep patterns. Try to sleep around 10:00 PM. If you cannot, try to sleep before midnight. Make a pattern and go to bed daily at the same time. Sleep in a dark room. Avoid lights in your room as darkness promotes the secretion of melatonin hormone which is helpful for sound sleep. Walk every day for at least 30 to 60 minutes a day. Walking leads to chemical reactions in the body which releases stress and makes you happier and also it is an excellent exercise. Do breathing exercises like Pranayam and Anulom Vilom daily. If you cannot spare much time, do it for 10 to 15 minutes. They have multiple benefits for you. Take more fresh fruits and vegetables. Add berries like blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, cherries, and other fruits like oranges to your food regimen. Add walnuts, almonds, lettuce, asparagus, avocados, etc. to your diet. Avoid excessive tea, coffee and caffeinated drinks, spicy and junk food. Try all these things regularly, and you will feel positive results within a month. Do consult me after two or three weeks regarding improvement.
I hope you are satisfied with my answer.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am currently posted and based on my symptoms, my brother has consulted a local ayurvedic doctor and has been advised the below medicines:
My brother would be sending the medicines via courier to me. But before that, since I am taking these medicines based on telephonic consultation, I am a little concerned about it. I need your suggestion on whether the medicines prescribed are right or would help treat my present condition.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I just read your query.
Both medicines are right for you. Brahmi Amrita Rasayana contains mainly Brahmi and other things that are good for your brain will calm you and have multiple benefits for you. The same is applied to Ustukhuddus herbal decoction. Both are meant for anxiety and other things associated with the brain and psychological conditions. So you can take both these things with other medications without worrying. They will not harm you.
I hope you are satisfied with my answer.
