What are the possible causes of pain during erection?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I think I have a UTI because I pass urine frequently and have pain during slight erections and during or after a bowel movement. In addition, I experience a clear or cloudy discharge. My urine test report suggests the following:

  1. TLC: 10200.
  2. Serum uric acid: 6.05 mg/dl.
  3. Urine microscopic-epithelial cell: ASB.
  4. TSH and serum: 10.43 mU/L.

Ultrasound of the abdomen is normal. Please help.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your complaints carefully and understand your concern.

Sometimes after erection, pain occurs due to urinary tract obstruction. It can be managed naturally through ayurvedic medicines. According to your investigation reports (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity), everything looks normal except TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) value. This value indicates hypothyroidism. You should take Thyroxin tablets regularly for this. Hypothyroidism is one of the causes of weight gain. Heavy weight might be the cause of temporary hindrance during urination.

I hope that you get your answer.

Please let me know if you need any help.

Thank you.

Treatment plan

I suggest you take the following medications: 1. Gokshuradi Guggulu (Gokshura, Guggul, Triphala, Kalimirch, Pippali, and Nagarmotha) two tablets twice a day after meals 2. Chandraprabha Vati (Chandraprabha, Vachu, Musta) one tablet twice a day after meals. 3. Chandanasava (Sandalwood, Sugandhbala, Nilophar, Gambhari) four teaspoons twice daily with equal water after meals. Consult a specialist doctor, discuss with them, and take medications with their consent.

Preventive measures

Avoid spicy and fried junk foods. Avoid smoking and drinking if you have these habits. Drink plenty of water. Do regular yoga-like kapalbhati and Mandukasana. Do these things and provide your valuable feedback.
