Can Ayurvedic medicine help manage testicular pain?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been experiencing testicular pain for the past three months. I have undergone scrotal color Doppler tests twice at different hospitals, and the reports came back normal. Could you please suggest any Ayurvedic medicines for my testicular pain? I have attached my reports for your reference. I would appreciate your help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have just read your query and reviewed the attached file (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). According to your report, there is a small hypoechoic growth in the right epididymal head, which could be causing your pain. However, there are no clear signs of a cyst or inflammation. I suggest you follow this Ayurvedic management for ten days:

  1. Tablet Kanchanar guggulu (containing kanchanar, haritaki, and bibhitaka): Take two tablets twice a day with lukewarm water after meals. Do not swallow the tablets; instead, chew them before taking them with water. This formulation helps relieve issues related to cysts, swelling, and inflammation.
  2. Capsule Haridra (turmeric, curcuma longa, and himalaya): Take two capsules twice a day with water after meals. These turmeric capsules help reduce swelling and pain.
  3. Capsule Punarnava (containing guggulu resin, ginger root, and punarnava root): Take two capsules twice a day with water after meals for ten days.

If drumstick leaves are readily available, you can try the following method: Crush the drumstick leaves and mix them with a small amount of castor oil. Heat the mixture slightly. After cooling, apply the boiled crushed leaves to the swollen area for 15 to 20 minutes. After removing, clean the area with lukewarm water. This may help reduce swelling and pain. If you experience any irritation or discomfort, remove the application immediately and wash the area with lukewarm water and soap.

I hope this information is helpful. Please follow up with me after ten days.
