Can sensorineural hearing loss be treated?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 24 years old. Is there any treatment for sensorineural hearing loss? I have experienced a 40 to 50 percent loss of hearing. I am not sure if this condition is congenital or if it developed later.

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

Sensorineural hearing loss affects the inner ear and the neural part of the ear. For treatment, you might consider the following Ayurvedic remedies that could help strengthen the nerves:

  1. Yograj guggulu tablets: Take two tablets twice a day with lukewarm water after meals for three weeks. Chew the tablets before swallowing.
  2. Ashwagandha capsules: Take two capsules twice a day with water for four weeks.
  3. Brahmi capsules: Take two capsules twice a day with water for four weeks.
  4. Garlic oil treatment: Heat one teaspoon of sesame oil in a pan over low flame. Add one clove of chopped garlic and fry it, stirring and pressing the garlic gently until it turns brown. Turn off the flame and let the oil cool. Store it in a container. Put five drops of this oil into each ear twice a day.

Try these remedies regularly, and you should begin to notice positive results.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Thank you.
