Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 42‑year‑old married male. I have been suffering from severe mood swings, intense irritability, racing negative thoughts, and social phobia for the last 11 years. My confidence is low, and I often feel inferior in many situations. Additionally, I experience premature ejaculation, which exacerbates my problems.
I have tried many treatments over the years, including allopathic, homeopathic, and Ayurvedic methods, but nothing has worked. Recently, I started taking Mentat, two tablets twice daily, and the effect has been significant. I have taken these tablets for the last week. At the same time, I have been eating 20 soaked almonds daily for the last week and one tablespoon of amla powder each morning.
I also exercise and practice yoga, though not daily, and run 4 kilometers three times a week. I follow a vegetarian diet, do not consume alcohol, and do not smoke. My pathological reports are normal, except my blood pressure is slightly high at 135/88 mm Hg.
With Mentat tablets, I feel a lot better. However, sometimes my mind becomes trapped in negative thoughts and irritability, creating a horrible and helpless situation. Please tell me if what I am taking is acceptable or not. Please also suggest other medicines to completely cure my condition. I want to mention that when I take a multivitamin A to Z, I feel slightly better, but I am not taking it currently. Can I start taking a multivitamin, or would you suggest something else? Please help me by recommending effective treatments that I can take alongside continuing Mentat.
Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understood your concern.
All of your problems are psychosomatic. A healthy diet with proper supplementation and regular exercise will help. Practicing mindfulness meditation or gratitude meditation will help improve confidence and reduce mood swings.
The probable cause of your situation is a vitamin D and B12 deficiency. Increased stress levels can also be the reason. I suggest you undergo the following investigations:
Serum vitamin D3.
Serum vitamin B12.
Morning serum cortisol.
I suggest you follow the treatment plan mentioned below:
Diet for every day:
Eat three wholesome home‑cooked meals and two snacks.
Eat three to five servings of fresh fruits and vegetables.
Avoid processed or packaged food.
Drink two litres of water.
Exercise:
Continue walking four to five kilometres and practicing yoga and Surya Namaskar every day.
Practice meditation for at least thirty minutes every day.
Medicine:
Continue Mentat (contains indian pennywort, thyme-leaved gratiola, winter cherry) and amla churna.
Add HiOwna powder (contains a combination of herbal ingredients, macro, and micronutrients), two teaspoons twice daily with milk.
Preventive measures: Exercise and meditation are essential for the prevention of anxiety.
Regarding follow-up: Keep a diet record for three days.
Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thanks for the reply.
It took many days to receive the reports. I am uploading all three reports. I am following your instructions regarding diet, exercise, and meditation as much as possible. I could not obtain Hi Owna powder; I have ordered it and will begin using it soon. Please advise whether I should take Confido or Tentex Royal tablets.
Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understood your concern.
Thank you very much for the update on the laboratory reports (attachments are removed to protect the patient’s identity). You have a vitamin D deficiency. Begin supplementation as prescribed in the treatment plan. You may take Tablet Confido (contains Tribulus, Orchis mascula, Asteracantha longifolia, Lactuca scariola, and Mucuna pruriens) if you wish. A proper diet, exercise, and meditation should be consistently followed for optimal results.
I suggest you continue with diet, exercise, and meditation as outlined. Begin vitamin D supplementation: Take one vitamin D3 (60,000 International Units) granule sachet once weekly for six weeks.
I suggest you follow up in one month.
Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
