Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have been diagnosed with PCOD (polycystic ovarian disease) for many years and am now planning to conceive. We have been trying various medicines and methods for two years. After these unsuccessful attempts, my doctor suggested IVF (in vitro fertilization). Around the same time, I came across bonduc nuts and consumed them for nearly 80 days, which helped regulate my periods, but I did not conceive.
After I stopped consuming the nuts, my periods became irregular again, so I have resumed taking them. Can you suggest a medication that might help me conceive naturally within three months? During allopathic treatment, I was able to ovulate, and my follicle size was adequate, but I had to take injections to induce ovulation. My fallopian tubes are not blocked, and my husband has no issues with sperm count.
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I just read your query.
Ideally, this medicine should be taken regularly for three months, and then you can stop it. If you are taking it without consulting a physician, I advise you to stop.
For PCOD (polycystic ovarian disease), you can take Kanchanar guggul tablets (kanchanar, haritaki, and bibhitaka), two tablets twice a day with water after meals for one month. Additionally, take Shatavari capsules (shatavari, ela, and sharkara), two capsules twice a day with water after meals for one to two months. Stop taking these after conception.
For conception, if your periods are regular, try to have intercourse between days 11 to 15 of your cycle. You can also opt for an ovulation study to track the size of the egg. Since conception is a delicate matter, I strongly advise you to visit your gynecologist regularly.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
