This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 21-year-old male, who is 5'41" tall, and I weigh 136.68 Ibs. How to control excess sebum production on my scalp? It causes my hair to fall like anything.

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

When hair roots do not get sufficient nutrition, then their roots become weak so you will have hair fall. Another important cause is applying several kinds of shampoo and conditioner, which makes hair and scalp rough and dry. So kindly avoid using different kinds of shampoo and conditioner. Wash your hair with natural shampoo Reetha (Soapnuts) and Shikakai (Acacia Concinna). Apply coconut oil to hair, especially, at the hair root to provide strength. At this age, excess sebum production is due to hormonal changes and excessive eating of spicy and fried junk foods. Wash your face with Neem leaves water and apply aloe vera gel twice a day. Avoid spicy and fried junk foods.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
