Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am providing some details before asking my question, which might help you in answering. I am a 29-year-old male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, and weigh 176.37 pounds. I have a good physique and a sharp mind, according to my colleagues, teachers, and academic performance. I am extroverted and experiencing moderate genetic hair loss. There is a family history of heart disease and hypertension, though my blood pressure is normal due to regular exercise. I have been suffering from OCD (obsessive–compulsive disorder) and moderate depression for the past year due to career and personal reasons. I am taking Paroxetine, which has been helpful, and my condition has improved. I am prone to gaining weight easily, sometimes suffer from constipation, experience acidity, and am prone to anxiety. I cannot remain hungry and become irritable when hungry. I have the most hunger in the morning, always take a heavy breakfast, and exercise regularly.
Now, my question: Please suggest some herbs, capsules, or Ayurvedic remedies that can act as a general body tonic for the long term, with desired effects such as anti-aging, maintaining youth, stamina, strength, sexual power, muscle building, and preventing diseases typically encountered in the 50s. I am looking for something beneficial for overall physical and mental health. Additionally, if you have any suggestions that could help with OCD and depression, I would appreciate that as well. Previously, I had increased pitta dosha (when I was experiencing hair loss two to three years ago), but now I have an increased vata dosha (since I began suffering from OCD and depression last year).
Please recommend remedies that address both increased pitta and vata doshas if possible.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
First, let me emphasize that your mind is under your control. If you cannot change something, there is no need to dwell on it. So, let go of things that make you angry, sad, or affect your mood. A single negative thought can spoil your day, and if this happens repeatedly, it may lead to psychological problems.
Regarding herbs that can help you maintain long-term health, stress and depression significantly impact physical fitness. Depression triggers various hormonal and chemical reactions that can hinder your body's ability to function optimally. Therefore, try to stay as positive as possible.
For managing moderate depression and seeking anti-aging benefits along with improving sexual power, I recommend starting with Ashwagandha capsules. Take two capsules twice a day with water after meals for one month. Ashwagandha has multiple benefits for your issues and can help with both depression and physical health. Additionally, take Brahmi capsules, two capsules twice a day with water after meals for one month. Brahmi will help calm your mind and body and assist with OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder) and depression.
For hair loss, use Mahabhringraj oil (which includes bhringaraja, amalaki, and sesame oil) for a gentle massage on your scalp every alternate day. Wash your hair with a mild herbal shampoo. Also, take Asthiposhak tablets, two tablets twice a day with water after meals for one month to support hair growth. Incorporate curry leaves, figs, and raisins into your diet for further hair growth benefits. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her, and take the medicines with take the medicines with their consent.
Before bedtime, drink a glass of lukewarm milk with almond powder, cardamom powder, and a little honey. Avoid screens (television, laptop, mobile) one hour before sleep, as their blue light can disrupt normal sleep patterns. Practice meditation daily, as it is beneficial for the mind and helps stabilize your mood. If possible, visit a nearby panchakarma center and consider procedures like shirodhara, which have shown good results in managing depression.
Try these recommendations consistently, and you should notice positive results within a month. Consult me after one month regarding your progress or consider seeing a reputable Ayurveda physician for further management.
Thanks and regards.
