Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am 58 years old and experience unwanted erections during sleep. Despite the erection, there is no sexual desire. This started six months ago and disturbs my sleep. I have to get up and wait two to three minutes for the erection to subside. I take medication for hypertension.
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
The problem you mentioned is very common and affects both teenagers and adults frequently. At your age, it is still normal because an erection is related to the testosterone hormone (male sexual hormone), and your body is still producing it, which can lead to erections during sleep. Just as menopause occurs in women, men experience a form of menopause where testosterone levels decrease with age. This can happen at different ages for different individuals. To avoid discomfort while sleeping, try changing positions frequently. Additionally, consider walking and meditating daily.
I also suggest taking two Brahmi capsules, twice a day with water after meals for one month.
These measures should help you significantly.
Thank you.
