Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am impressed with the natural advice that you offered for dealing with nasal polyps. I had recently been to an ENT doctor, and a biopsy was taken to identify the bacteria. The doctor prescribed a four-pronged approach with antihistamines, Prednisolone tablets, Fluticasone furoate spray, and a seven-day course of antibiotics specific to the bacteria.
Apart from the nasal spray and the short course of antibiotics, I am reluctant to take the other two medications due to my family's history of diabetes and the related side effects. I have had this condition at various levels of intensity for many years, and I have dealt with it by keeping my nasal passage clean with some of the home remedies. With the remedies proposed, I can manage my situation. I do not smoke or have any lifestyle issues. I am looking for a non-pharmaceutical approach to manage or eliminate my nasal polyps. What do you think of considering my doctor's pharmaceutical approach? Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
There is no need to worry; your problem is due to excessive Kapha according to Ayurveda. I suggest you follow:
1. Take a decoction of fresh fig, draksha tulsi (holy basil), and black pepper kashayam (a water decoction or water extract of a single herb or group of herbs) twice a day.
2. Put a drop of mustard oil, or Anu taila (Jivanti, Vari, Darvi) in the nostrils daily.
3. Take Tikta katu kashaya rasa with simple food or fig mixed with honey, etc.
4. Take walnuts, pistachios, almonds, raisins, black pepper, ginger, and pippali (long pepper).
5. Avoid sour curd, spicy food, cold drinks, etc.
6. Drink lukewarm water.
I hope that you get your answer.
Please let me know if you need any help.
Thank you.
