What could be the reason for a stuffy nose during eating?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Every time I eat anything, my nose gets stuffy, and it becomes difficult to take a full breath. I have gone gluten-free and dairy-free, but it has not changed my symptoms. I get a spasm or lump feeling around the Adam's apple area in the throat. I get a burning in the throat sometimes. It can get worse when sitting but alleviates a little when moving around and standing. My doctor gave me a homeopathic remedy containing blended vitamin and mineral supplements, but it does not seem to help that much.

Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

See, as your problem is chronic and you are not getting relief for nasal congestion from medicine. So, I suggest you visit a nearby ENT (ear, nose, throat) physician so that he can do your proper examination. In a clinical examination, he will do an endoscopy. Endoscopy is a procedure where with the help of a camera your doctor can examine you internally. This will solve your problem to a great extent, and you will come to know about your exact problem.

Once a proper diagnosis is made, it will be easier for you to get treatment. After diagnosis, you can decide which treatment you want to take whether homeopathic, Ayurvedic, or allopathic. If you want to take Ayurvedic treatment then do consult me after examination with your reports, or you can consult a nearby reputed Ayurveda physician.

I hope you find my answer helpful.

Follow-up after two weeks.

Thank you.
