What Ayurvedic medicines can help manage irregular periods?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been a lean PCOD (polycystic ovarian disease) patient for eight years. My periods are such that if they start on their own, they do not stop without medication. Additionally, they are not regular and usually occur every three months. Currently, my bleeding has been ongoing for 11 days, following 10 days of spotting. This means I have been experiencing abnormal bleeding for a total of 21 days.

I started taking Styplon yesterday, with two tablets three times a day, but the bleeding has not yet reduced. What should I do?

Please guide me.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

No need to worry. Your issues are due to hormonal imbalance. I recommend taking Aloes Compound (ferrous sulfate), two tablets twice daily, M2 tone syrup (containing ashoka, lodhra, ashwagandha, cedrus deodara, kasisa bhasma, mesua ferrea, nardostachys jatamansi, and shatavari), two teaspoons twice daily, and Pushyanug churna (padma kesara), one teaspoon twice daily for one month. Avoid sour curd, spicy food, and cold drinks. Opt for Madhur tikta kashaya and dominant simple foods such as coconut water and pomegranate juice.

I hope this helps you.

Thank you.
