Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have been experiencing irregular periods for the past year, which started after I took the emergency contraceptive pill. I took the pill out of concern about a potential pregnancy, even though I have not had sexual intercourse and am still a virgin. However, I am physically active with my boyfriend. I am gaining weight due to irregular periods and stomach issues.
Additionally, my hair is falling out, and I feel stressed all the time. I have been taking M2-tone and Shatavari capsules for a few days. I have no thyroid problems. Could you suggest remedies or treatments for my issues? My current weight is 145 pounds and my height is 5 feet 4 inches. What can I do to address weight loss, especially since I am a student and cannot go to a gym?
Please advise.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I just read your query. You should avoid taking the emergency contraceptive pill if you have not had intercourse, as it is a hormonal pill that can cause hormonal imbalances.
Regarding your current medications, they are appropriate. Continue taking them as prescribed. Additionally, consider taking Raja pravartini vati (which contains aloe vera, kaseesa, and tankana) two tablets twice a day with water after meals for one month. Stop taking it once you get your period. If your period does not return within a month, I recommend visiting a gynecologist.
As for weight concerns, it could be related to hormonal disturbances or possibly PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome). To determine this, you should undergo some tests. To reduce weight, I suggest the following:
Consult me after one month for an update on your progress and further management, or consider visiting a reputable Ayurveda physician nearby.
Thank you.
