Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am suffering from melasma over my nose, cheeks, and forehead. Whenever I try to apply foundation to hide it on any occasion, it looks brownish. It has been happening for almost 15 years, starting from my second pregnancy. What should I do? Already taking medicine for it, but I do not see any results.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Melasma is common during pregnancy. First, I suggest you avoid or at least reduce the use of foundation because that may cause more harm over time. Secondly, you may use Berberis Aquifolium mother tincture (available in all homeopathic stores). Add 5 to 7 teaspoons, mix it with water, stir it well, and apply that over your clean face twice a day for 15 days. Let it remain on your face for 30 minutes, and then wash it with plain water. Do not use soap on your face at this time. Instead, continue using the face wash or soap you may use now.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
