What can happen when a high dose of Paracetamol is taken?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My friend has taken 14 tablets of Crocin 650 mg at a time? What can we do now? Is there any Ayurveda treatment for that?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Crocin is a Paracetamol drug. Your friend has consumed 14 tablets of Paracetamol which is a very high dose. It can cause side effects like nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, low blood pressure, low blood glucose level, headache, skin allergic rashes, and liver and kidney damage.

If liver damage is more, it leads to coma and sometimes a threat to life. There are some antidote drugs like N-acetylcysteine and Methionine available. Please take your friend to allopathy hospital for further physical evaluation. Do not delay to save him.

I hope this has helped you.

Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.

Thank you.
