Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 39-year-old male. I had a blood test for a lipid profile, which showed the following results: total cholesterol 224 mg/dL, LDL (low-density lipoprotein) cholesterol 144 mg/dL, and triglycerides 135 mg/dL. I do not have any other health issues such as diabetes or high blood pressure. I want to normalize my lipid levels and maintain a healthy heart. My lipid levels have been above normal for the past three years, and I am now concerned about whether this could lead to blockages in my heart.
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
The most important aspect of lipid control is diet. Try to avoid non-vegetarian foods, although eggs are fine. Also, avoid fried foods. Exercise for a minimum of 30 minutes daily and ensure you get at least eight hours of sleep each night. I suggest taking Shilajitwadi lauh vati (which contains shilajit, madhu, and shunthi), one tablet twice a day. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her, and take the medicines with take the medicines with their consent. As a home remedy, drink two to three glasses of warm cumin water daily. To prepare it, boil three glasses of water with three teaspoons of cumin for five minutes.
I hope this helps you.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you for the reply.
But my concern remains the same: Has my high lipid profile over the past three years caused any blockage in my heart? My second question is whether cumin water and Shilajitwadi lauh vati will bring my lipid profile into the normal range and address any heart blockage that may have already formed.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Shilajitwadi and cumin water can help lower lipid levels, but they cannot cure blockages. I do not recommend medication for blockages until there is a confirmed diagnosis. Your lipid levels are not high enough to cause a blockage. However, the only way to determine if there is a blockage is by undergoing a cardiac assessment, such as an angiogram or a treadmill test (TMT).
Thanks and regards.
