How to get pain relief in a patient with severe knee and leg pain who is unable to walk properly?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My mother has severe pain in her knees and legs. She cannot even walk properly. She is currently taking Herbalife. Please suggest some medicines for her to get relief from pain.

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I suggest you give her the medicines mentioned below.

  1. Take five pills of Radium Bromatum Dilution (homeopathic medicine) four times daily.
  2. Take 15 drops of Gaultheria Procumbens mother tincture in half a cup of water twice daily.
  3. Apply Rheum Aid (Arnica montana, Cantharis, Gaultheria procumbens, Methyl salicylate) gel on her knees and legs.

At this age, it is very common. There are many yoga asanas for knee and leg pain. She can do those regularly and she will get benefits soon. In allopathic medicine, painkillers are the only option, but in severe pain, we have to take allopathic medicines.

I suggest she follow a few instructions mentioned below:

  1. Start yoga.
  2. Take some quantity of fenugreek seeds powder, ginger powder, and turmeric powder. Mix all of these and have one spoonful with water or milk in the morning and at night. It is a nice mixture that helps relieve pain.
  3. Avoid sour food and chutney.

It will be more helpful to me if you give the following details:

  1. When does the pain increase and decrease?
  2. What makes her pain better?
  3. Does the pain occur at any particular time?
  4. Is the pain severe while walking continuously or in the first movement?
  5. For how long she has had the pain?
  6. Which side is affected more, right or left?

All the above details may be helpful to decide further information and the duration of treatment.

Kindly consult a specialist, talk to them, and take medications with their consent.

I hope this has helped you.

Thank you.
