How can PIH be managed in a lactating mother?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a lactating mother. I have PIH. My kid is just 16 days over. I am taking Vilwadi Lehyam 0.18 oz, Jirakadyarishtam one tablespoon, and Dasamoolarishtam one tablespoon before food without medical advice. Can I continue this? Currently, I am taking tablets Labebet 100 mg and Shelcal 500 mg.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

After delivery, a mother needs care. She feels pain and tiredness. Also, an increase in metabolism helps in the production of milk. You should take Jeevaneeya (jivaniya gana, meda, kakoli) and Balya (shatavari, sariva, brahmi) ayurvedic medicines to restore strength and stamina. You need to do a regular massage. You are consuming the right medication. But Jirakadyarishtam and Dasamularishtam should be taken twice a day after meals. Do a whole-body massage with warm Bala oil (bala, chinnaruha, rasna). Consult your doctor and take medicines accordingly.

To produce sufficient milk for your child, take Shatavari granules (shatavari, ela, sharkara) 0.14 oz twice a day with warm milk after meals.

I hope this helps.

Please revert so I can assist you further.

Thank you.
