This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My father suffers from pain in his joints and has been recommended to use some medication. There are two types of tablets Baidyanath Mahaygraj Guggulu and Baidyanath Amwatari Ras. He has been advised by a friend to take two tablets of each two times a day. Are they safe to use together? Please advise.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

Both drugs are completely safe and effective for joint pain and can be taken together. You can also take a glass of warm water while taking medicine for easy digestion.

I suggest the following: boil two to three garlic cloves in milk and make him consume it regularly, as it is effective in treating joint pain. He can also take turmeric milk (golden milk). Avoid improper food habits, spicy and junk food. Take fresh warm food with more green leafy and other vegetables.

I suggest using Mahanarayana thailam (Aswagandha, Bilva, Gokhuru) or Ksheerabala thailam (Bala kwath, Bala kalka, Godugdha) for external applications. Keep hot packs or poultices for temporary pain relief. Avoid excess sugar and salt intake. Ajwain seeds, dried ginger, red rice, barley, ginger, garlic, bitter guard, drumstick leaves, and horse gram are all very good for joint pain issues. Advise him to sleep on time, do mild to moderate exercises or walk and empty the bowel regularly. Do not suppress natural urges.

I hope that you get your answer.

Please let me know if you need any help.

Thank you.
