Which Ayurvedic medicines can be used to treat tinea cruris?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Could you please recommend some Ayurvedic treatments for tinea cruris? I had the condition last year, but I am experiencing symptoms again. The itching has not completely subsided. I have used Sertaconazole cream, and in the past, I was treated with Terbinafine and Hydroxyzine.

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Tinea cruris is commonly caused by a type of fungus called dermatophytes. It usually results in circular patches on the skin that often resemble rings, which is why it is also referred to as ringworm.

Typically, it grows in unclean or moist areas. Antifungal treatment is the recommended course of action. I suggest applying Sertaconazole topical cream externally twice a day after cleaning and thoroughly drying the affected area. In addition to these medications, you can also use Ayurvedic ointments such as cutis cream or six-c ointment externally.

I also recommend taking Khadirarishta, one tablespoon twice a day mixed with an equal amount of water after meals, and Gandhaka rasayana vati, two tablets twice a day after meals. Consult your healthcare provider before starting these treatments.

Thanks and regards.
