Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am suffering from jock itch disease. Please help me.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I just read your query.

See, jock itch is mostly due to fungal infection. I suggest you do the following things to control your problem:

1. Keep the area clean and dry always. Never leave it moist.

2. Always wear loose-fitted undergarments and prefer cotton-made undergarments rather than synthetic ones.

3. If you have athletic foot, then always wear socks first.

4. After bathing, keep the area dry, and then wear clothes.

5. Wash the area two to three times a day.

6. Apply coconut oil twice a day on the affected area.

7. Take two teaspoons of baking soda and add some water to it. Make a paste and apply it to the affected area. Leave it for 15 minutes, and then wash it off with water.

8. If you are applying any anti-fungal ointment, then apply it twice a day. It will help you in faster recovery.

9. If within a week you do not notice any improvement, then you can consult a nearby reputed dermatologist.

I hope you are satisfied with my answer.
