Intervertebral Disc Compression

Intervertebral disks act as shock absorbers, support the upper body, and allows a wide range of movements. An injury to these disks due to trauma or excessive strain causes the herniated components to compress the spinal nerve resulting in neck pain, low back pain, sciatica, tingling or numbness, paresthesia, muscle weakness, paralysis, etc. Based on the extent of injury and part of the spine affected, the signs and symptoms and their intensity vary. The intervertebral disk compression can be present anywhere between the cervical to the lumbar region.
