Is there an ayurvedic remedy for inguinal hernia?

Hello doctor,

I have had a right inguinal hernia for the last three to four months. Is there any cure in Ayurveda?

A hernia can be managed only through surgery. In this condition, Ayurvedic medicines would not give you satisfactory results. In an inguinal hernia, the internal visceral organs protrude into the scrotum through the inguinal canal. Due to the regular to-and-fro motion of visceral contents, the size of the inguinal canal increases. It can be corrected by a hernioplasty or herniorrhaphy.
