How to ease pelvic pain from hydrosalpinx before periods?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I developed right lower pelvic pain and was asked to do an ultrasound, which diagnosed the presence of hydrosalpinx 10 months ago. I took antibiotics for two weeks, but since then, I have been suffering from right lower pelvic pain that radiates to my knee. The pain starts 10 days before my menstrual cycle and lasts for two weeks until my period ends. My periods last for eight to nine days.

I also have a bulky uterus with several small uterine fibroids. I would be grateful if you could suggest some treatment to help me return to my normal life. I am 37 years old and have two kids, both delivered by C-section.

Kindly help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Hydrosalpinx is a fallopian tube disorder. In this concern, fallopian tube blocks distally and forms a sausage-like structure. Sometimes it may become painful. A bulky uterus is due to chronic pelvic inflammatory issues. It may lead to irregular and painful menstruation. Fibroids also lead to such conditions.

If fibroids are present without symptoms then it can be managed naturally. Its size may change depending on the menstrual cycle. These ayurvedic medicines may be helpful. Treatment include,

  1. Kuberakshadi Vati (Sunthi, kalimirch, Pipal) one tablet, Nityanand Rasa one tablet, Chandraprabha Vati one tablet, and Pushyanuga Churna 2 gram, Styplon one tablet with warm water after meals.
  2. Ashokaristam (Ashoka, Guda, Amla) one tablespoon twice a day with an equal amount of water after meals.
  3. Varunadi Kasayam (Karanja, Putikaranja, Agnimantha) one tablespoon twice a day with an equal amount of water before meals.

I hope you are satisfied with my answer. For further queries, you can consult me at icliniq.

Thank you.
