Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 25-year-old unmarried female who recently had a blood profile done, revealing specific readings. My DHEA sulphate levels are 295.5, with the reference range for females between 23 and 266. My free testosterone level is 4.88, which falls outside the female range of 0.04 to 4.18. Fortunately, my thyroid and RBC (red blood cell) levels appear normal. I have been experiencing certain symptoms such as regular but sometimes scanty bleeding, acne, thinning hair, and very mild facial hair, all of which are indicative of hormonal issues. My doctor has prescribed allopathic medicines, but I am hesitant about taking them. I have heard about the potential benefits of acupressure and ayurveda, and I currently take Ashokarishta daily.

I have a few questions: Can acupressure and ayurveda truly help alleviate my hormonal imbalance? Despite my slightly elevated testosterone levels, can alternative therapies like acupressure potentially lowers them or maintains them at a healthier range? Based on my blood profile, does it suggest infertility or an inability to conceive?

Regarding my lifestyle, I am not overweight but would like to lose weight from my hips. I engage in a 45-minute daily walk, practice one hour of yoga, and follow a vegan diet that excludes milk, maida, and sugar. I also maintain good hydration habits and do not consume alcohol or tobacco. My doctor has commended my healthy lifestyle, suggesting that it has contributed to the milder nature of my hormonal imbalance.I seek guidance on these questions and alternative medication options. Please help.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

Based on your blood tests (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity), your testosterone levels are slightly elevated, but this can be brought back to normal. There is no need to panic about this. Your current lifestyle is healthy, and you should maintain it. I suggest to consider taking additional ayurvedic medicines to enhance your overall health.

I hope this helps.

For further inquiries, feel free to consult me at icliniq.com.

Thank you.

Treatment plan

I suggest the following treatment plan: 1. Ashokaristam 15 ml twice a day with an equal amount of water after meals. 2. M2tone syrup 10 ml twice a day. 3. Aleos compound 1 tablet twice daily. 4. Phalaghrita 5 ml twice before food with milk. 5. Shatarex granules 4 gm twice.

Regarding follow up

These are all medicines for one month regularly, and again, go for investigations and share your follow-up.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
