What makes a person feel lazy and get daytime sleepiness?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have been suffering from poor quality of sleep. I am not able to wake up early in the morning whether I go to bed early or late. My body feels heavy and lazy. Low energy, fatigue, daytime sleepiness, and laziness are the symptoms that are present every day. I am here to understand this and get treated for the same.

Kindly help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Your problems are related to increased pitta (pitham). Increased pitham is due to late time sleep, less sleep, disturbed sleep, over workload, physical stress, mental stress, constantly thinking about sex, increased sexual activity, excess spicy food, roaming under sunlight, wearing tight woolen or jeans dresses, etc.

Use more cumin and coriander seeds in cooking. You can take tender coconut water, grape juice, and orange. Think only of your nostril opening and just observe the air coming in and out through the nostril. Do not think of others and forget office work while entering home. If you follow this advice, then you will be alright. You can continue other allopathy drugs and no need to stop them.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
