Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 39-year-old male. I tested blood for lipid profile and found: total cholesterol 224, LDL cholesterol 144, and triglyceride 135. I do not have any other problems like diabetes, BP, etc. I want to make my lipid levels normal and make my heart healthy. Since the last three years, my lipid levels are above normal, I am afraid now that does this cause blockages in the heart?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The most important aspect for lipid control is diet, try to avoid non-vegetarian foods. Eggs are fine, also avoid fried food. Exercise for a minimum of 30 minutes daily. And, sleep for a minimum of eight hours daily. I suggest taking Shilajitwadi lauh vati (Shilajatu, Madhu, Shunthi) one tablet twice a day. As a home remedy, drink two to three glasses of warm cumin water daily. It can be prepared by boiling three glass of water with three teaspoons of cumin for five minutes.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thanks for the answer.

But my fear remains the same that 'does my high lipid profile from the last three years caused any blockage in my heart till now and my second question is 'will cumin water and Shilajitwadi lauh vati bring my lipid profile to normal range and cure if any heart blockage was already formed'

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Shilajitwadi and jeera water will bring down the lipid levels. It cannot cure blockages. I do not suggest medicines for blockage till there is a confirmed diagnosis. Your lipid levels are not bad enough to cause a blockage. But, the only way to ascertain a blockage is by undergoing a cardiac assay such as essay and TMT (treadmill test).

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
