I am 28 years old. Can I increase my height?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Is it possible to increase height after 28 years? My weight is 68 Kg.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

As your age is 28 years you cannot increase your height by yoga or any other exercises. In men skeletal maturity (growth plate maturity) is attained at the age of 18 to 22 years after which bones cannot grow further. Hence, there is a cessation of vertical growth in humans.

You have not mentioned your height, so I cannot determine your BMI. If your BMI is medium to obese, definitely through yoga and stretching exercises you can remodel your body so that you can appear taller rather than short and stout.
