This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Please let me know if there is any Ayurvedic treatment available for minor heart attacks and heart blockages. If so, what would the treatment involve? My dad is currently suffering from a heart blockage and recently experienced a minor heart attack.

Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Heart blockage can have several causes, with stress, anxiety, and depression being major contributors. These factors can lead to an abnormal lipid profile and other health issues. It is important to address lifestyle and dietary habits in addition to medication and yoga practices. Here are some remedies that might be helpful:

  1. Hridayarnava ras (containing amla, haritaki, and triphala): Take one tablet twice a day after meals.
  2. Prabhakara vati (containing shuddha shilajit, abhrak bhasma, and swarna makshika bhasma): Take one tablet twice a day after meals.
  3. Arjunaristam (containing arjuna tvak, dhataki pushpa, and madhuka pushpa): Take one tablespoon twice a day with an equal amount of water after meals.
  4. Gomutra ark (cow urine): Take two teaspoons twice a day with an equal amount of water before meals.

Additionally, I recommend avoiding spicy, fried, and junk foods. If he smokes or drinks, it is best to quit. Avoid soft drinks, ice cream, and fatty foods. Incorporate fibrous foods, fruits, and leafy green vegetables, and drink amla juice (gooseberry extract) two teaspoons twice a day with an equal amount of water before meals. Regular yoga and pranayama can also be beneficial.

Thank you.
