Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My 61-year-old father had a slight variation of five percent in TMT during his routine master health check-up. But his blood test and echo are normal. The angiogram shows that he has seven blocks above 80 percent. The doctors have advised him to undergo bypass surgery. My father is very active. We want to avoid surgery. Are there any medications or effective ayurvedic cures for heart block?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I understand your concern. The deposition of cholesterol or other fatty acids causes coronary arteries blockage. This condition is called atherosclerosis. Further inflammation in the area can cause clot formation and hinders blood flow to the heart muscles leading to pain, heart attack, and other symptoms.

In ayurveda, several medicines and herbs are available that help to open the blockage naturally. However, it is a long process. Your father would need to change his food and lifestyle habits and it will take some time for changes to reflect. I suggest you to follow a few instructions mentioned below.

  1. Drink fresh Indian gooseberry juice one tablespoon twice a day with an equal amount of water one hour before food.
  2. Drink turmeric juice, two teaspoon twice a day with an equal amount of water one hour before food.
  3. Take Arjunaristam (hydroalcoholic formulation of the herb Terminalia arjuna ) one tablespoon twice a day with an equal amount of water after meals.
  4. Take tablet Medohara vati (a combination of several herbal ingredients) two tablets thrice a day with warm water after meals.
  5. Avoid spicy and fried junk foods.
  6. Drink plenty of warm water regularly.
  7. Do regular yoga like kapalbhati, mandukasana and ardhamatsyendrasana as well as pranayana like anuloma vilom, nadi sodhan and bhramari. It helps to improve your metabolism.
  8. Follow the above-mentioned suggestions for one month regularly and follow up.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.
