Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 35 years old. I have had a profound hearing loss (98 percent) for years now and have visited many ENT specialists. The only answer I have got was hearing aids would not work for me as I have nerve damage. It seems the nerves are damaged and cannot be re-activated. Just wanted to know if there is any remedy for this and if there are any chances of recovery.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

There are several causes for hearing impairment. It includes tympanic membrane perforation, middle ear bones ossification, and issues in the hearing area or internal ear. Treatment depends on the causes of impairment. So you should personally consult an ENT (ear, nose, and throat) specialist at a higher center. After routine examinations and checkups, they will decide what to do. Without routine examination, nobody can say anything.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
