Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It is well known that baldness or alopecia have a strong genetic connection. Hair fall and losing hair texture is also very common after the age of adolescent due to androgen (androgenic alopecia). Hair fall is also triggered by an unhealthy and stressful lifestyle. Follow few advice to have healthy hairs like avoiding oily and spicy food items. Avoid late night studies or regular night shifts. Avoid excessive consumption of tea or coffee. Do regular exercises and take balanced diet at regular interval which includes green leafy vegetables, salad and seasonal fruits.

For your present complaint of thinning of hairs, you can start applying hair oil (Neel patra, Bhringraj, Brahmi, Amla) over the hair roots, daily at night and massage gently. If you have dandruff problem, then use herbal shampoo (Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Lawsonia Inermis Leaf Extract, Azadirachta Indica Leaf Extract).

I hope this has helped you.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

What shall I do for the improvement of skin texture? Also, I am taking Ashwagandha. Could it lead to hair fall?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

To improve skin texture, do massage with sesame oil once a week. Ashwagandha is a neurotoxic medicine and is also given to improve body strength.

It is better to take Manjishtadi kashaya (Manjishta, Triphala, Thikta or Katukarohini) four teaspoon, by adding an equal amount of water twice a day after meal. It is a very potent Ayurvedic medicine for blood purification. A good intake of water and appropriate fruits and salad is also advised with this.

I hope this has helped you.

Thank you.
