This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been taking the tablet Finasteride for two months. I feel that I have gynecomastia because of the drug. Can you suggest any ayurvedic medicine to suppress this? Can Narasimha Rasayanam be used with Finasteride? Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Please tell me which disease or condition you are taking this medicine for. Finasteride treats enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia) and male pattern hair loss.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

I am using the tablet Finasteride for male pattern baldness.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Finasteride works by decreasing the amount of the hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in your body. It helps in increased hair growth. Some of the side effects are decreased sex drive, ejaculation disorder, increase in breast size and tenderness, skin rash, swelling of your lips, tongue, throat, or face, and depression.

If you experience any of these symptoms, please talk to that doctor also. I suggest you use Narasimha Rasayanam (butter, honey, milk, Triphala, and Shatavari) along with this medicine (consult a specialist doctor, discuss with them, and take medications with their consent). This is good medicine for premature graying of hair and hair fall and is an excellent male hormone stimulator.

I hope this helps.

Please revert so I can assist you further.

Thank you.
