What Ayurvedic medicines can help increase height?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 22-year-old woman, and I want to increase my height. My current height is 5 feet 1 inch, but I would like to grow to 5 feet 5 inches. I have tried Ashwagandha with cow's milk, but it caused my blood pressure to drop.

Can you please suggest a medication that could help me increase my height?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Growth and development of the body largely depend on growth hormone, which is secreted by the pituitary gland. The secretion of this hormone is regulated by genetic codes present in your chromosomes. By the age of 18, most of the development process is completed, so further growth is generally not possible. However, some Ayurvedic medicines and yoga techniques may still be beneficial. You can consider the following medicines:

  1. Dhatupaushtik vati (shatavari, gokhru beej, beej band, and banshlochan): Two tablets twice a day with warm milk after meals.
  2. Shatavaryadi churna (shatavari, ashwagandha, and kaunch beej): 0.11 ounces twice a day with warm milk after meals.
  3. Drakshasava (ashwagandha, nutmeg, and clove): One tablespoon twice a day with an equal amount of water after meals.

Please consult your specialist doctor to discuss these options and obtain their consent before starting any of the above medicines.

Additionally, practice regular yoga and pranayama to improve your metabolism. Include exercises like Tadasana, Kapalbhati, and Anulom vilom in your routine. Avoid spicy and fried foods; instead, consume fibrous foods, fruits, and green leafy vegetables. Drink plenty of water.

I hope this helps you.

Thank you.
