Is there a remedy for gallstones in homeopathy?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I was diagnosed with gallstones (multiple with largest 14.4 mm in gallbladder lumen). The allopathic doctor says surgery is the only option. Currently, I do not have any symptoms apart from dull ache during daily exercise. Can homeopathy help to dissolve gallstones? Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Yes, homeopathy can be helpful to you, and you have to take medicines for a long time. At present, if there are no symptoms then do not go for surgery. It will be useful if you can give details regarding, flatulence (gas), acidity, pain site, and constipation. At which time does the pain get increased? Do you have any other health issues?

Hope this helps.

Thank you and take care.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

Yes, I have flatulence but no acidity. The pain is on the right side ribs, but I do not know if it is because of a gallstone. The ribs are tender to the touch. I have a history of low levels of vitamin D. I also sometimes experience sore ribs on the left side. Constipation occurs occasionally. I have no other health issues. There is no regular pattern for the increase in pain. It sometimes increases while doing exercise.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Kindly consult your doctor, discuss the suggestion and take the treatment with consent.

1. Chionanthus mother tincture (Chionanthus virginica) 10 drops in half cup of water in the morning, noon and evening.

2. Two tablets of Cholesterinum in the morning, noon, and night.

3. Lycopodium 200 (Clubmoss), five pills in the morning weekly.

4. One spoon of the syrup Liv T (Andrographis paniculata Q, Carduus marianus Q, Chelidonium majus Q, Hydrastis canadensis Q) in the morning, noon, and night.

Along with medicines, avoid much fatty, fried, and fermented food. Eat simple food. Gallstone pain mostly occurs at night especially because of the food mentioned above, because pain is related to increase pita in the body.

Hope this helps.

Thank you and take care.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

I received the medicines and will be starting them today. I have a few doubts.

Should I stop taking milk, butter, and curd in my diet? I saw a few online videos saying a mix of lemon juice and olive oil, if taken frequently, helps to dissolve gallstones. Is there any truth in it?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

No need to completely stop milk and curd. However, cheese, paneer, and sweets have many fatty components that can increase your complaints.

And regarding that lemon juice, I am not sure about that. But you can try them as they are natural, so there is no need to worry. And you can clarify your doubt with an ayurvedic doctor.

Hope this helps.

Thank you and take care.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

I have followed your treatment regimen and have been feeling better.

Three years back, I got the USG done, and the sizes of the stones came down from 14.4 mm to 4 to 6 mm. And I am continuing those medicines.

Now I want to ask if homeopathy can help in case of dental problems. I had a portion of a molar tooth that broke while eating, so I went to the dentist. There I was told that one tooth had a deep cavity, and the filling was done. So I would like to know if homeopathy is of any help here. Does homeopathy help strengthen teeth, recover cavities, and reduce dental infections?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Dental infection can be solved with homeopathic medicines, but cavities are a technical issue, so they need filling. Also, stop taking Lycopodium weekly; instead, take it now every 15 days. And give follow-ups as follow-ups are needed to decide further medication and duration of treatment.

Hope this helps.

Thank you and take care.
