Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My age is 55 years, height 5 feet 74 inch, and weight 163.14 Ibs. I have had frequent urination and nocturia (nighttime) problems for two years. I have to wake up 3 to 4 times at night, affecting my sleep quality. It all started after taking antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medication from a dentist. Sometimes, it is in drops. There is an urge but no incontinence. The kidney function test is normal, and no prostate enlargement. The prostate size is 17 CC. Residual urine is normal at 25 CC. The bladder is normal, and the flow rate, however, is low at 4.5 ml/sec. Flexible cystoscopy shows inflammation in the urethra and near the bladder neck. The bladder neck seems to be tight (not certain). The urologist thinks it could be bladder neck dyssynergia (not certain). So, the tests were not conclusive. Otherwise, it is healthy, and no medication is taken at the moment. The medicine from the urologist did not work and, hence, was discontinued. I am looking for alternate therapy. Pumpkin seed extract supplement relieves symptoms by about 30 % to 40 %, and nothing else works. Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have read your case details carefully and understand your concern. You have already ruled out some possibilities, like prostate enlargement and increased blood sugar, which may be responsible for dropping urine. Some other things may also be there, like UTI (urinary tract infection), urethral stenosis, urinary calculus, changed food habits, climatic changes, journey, using public toilets, or unknown etiology. So, I am suggesting some Ayurvedic medicines based on your complaints. Take them regularly for one month and follow the instructions.
I hope this helps.
Please revert so I can assist you further.
Thank you.

Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you for the reply.
Sorry, I should have mentioned these two things. The ureteral stricture was only mild and likely due to inflammation, but it was not an issue as the cystoscope went through without an issue, as per the urologist. Kidney structure was found normal in ultrasound. So, it looks like a chronic UTI is causing inflammation, although it is not creating any burning or obvious symptoms of infection. Does the above medication cover UTI and mild urethral stricture?
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Yes, of course, suggested medicines help resolve chronic UTIs and ureteric inflammation. So, you should start medications and follow the shared instructions strictly.
I hope you will get a positive result soon.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you for the reply.
The medicines have been ordered, but it takes several weeks to arrive. But I will get them next week.
1) Do the above medications cover mild urethral stricture? As mentioned earlier, mild urethral stricture was found due to urethral inflammation. Still, the surgeon said it was not an issue as the cystoscope went through easily and hence did not recommend any surgery for the stricture.
2) Chandanasav is not available. Is it fine to carry on with the other medications, which will arrive soon? Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Yes, the suggested medicines help resolve mild strictures and inflammation. No issue if Chandanasava is unavailable and the other three medicines are enough to help you. If you have positive results after taking these medicines, you should arrange them for one more month.
I hope this helps.
Please revert so I can assist you further.
Thank you.
