Which Ayurvedic remedies can help improve vision?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 61 years old and 5 feet 4 inches tall. I weigh 121 pounds. A small formation of microcalcifications was found in the left mammary gland, which was surgically removed. No cancer was detected, and the post-surgery diagnosis was fibrocystic mastopathy. Could you recommend treatments to help prevent this problem in the future?

Additionally, I have an issue with the retina of my right eye. I am currently taking Enalapril, Aspirin, Lutein complex (for eyes), and Isotine eye drops and my urea and blood tests are normal. Could you recommend Ayurvedic therapies to help slow the progression of this condition and improve my vision? Currently, my vision in the right eye is -5/5, and in the left eye, it is -5.

Please advise.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

To help prevent fibrocystic mastopathy, I suggest taking aloe compound tablets (containing kumari, hirabol, and kambhoji). Take one tablet in the morning and one in the evening after food. This can be continued lifelong. The main ingredient is aloe vera. However, please consult your specialist doctor, discuss this with them, and take the medicine with their consent. If another form of aloe vera is available in your area, you can use that as well.

To improve your vision, I suggest using two herbs: Phyllanthus niruri (gale of the wind) and Aegle marmelos (Indian bael) leaves. These should be consumed orally daily as a rejuvenator for the eyes and neurons. Again, consult your specialist doctor, discuss these remedies with them, and take them only with their approval. Additionally, to enhance your vision, practice trataka (a meditative gazing technique) and eye yoga exercises. These should be done at least once daily on an empty stomach, either in the morning or evening, for optimal results.

I hope this helps you.

Thank you.
