What is the best ayurvedic medicine for eczema?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 45 years old, and I am suffering from severe eczema on both legs. I am using Manjishtadi Kashayam, Kaishore Guggulu, and Panchatikta Ghrita Guggulu. Are these medicines fine? Or else, suggest some other medicines. How long can I take these medicines? I have attached pictures of my leg.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I just read your query and saw your pictures (attachment removed to protect patient identity).

Eczema can be due to allergy or due to some irritant. It can be cured, but it takes some time. All these medicines are very good for eczema, but your problem is very severe. So, either you need to consult a nearby Panchakarma specialist for panchakarma, who will clean your body from the inside, or a dermatologist, as soon as possible. However, you can take these medicines along with allopathic medicines too if you consult a dermatologist. But you should visit a Panchakarma center or a dermatologist.

Otherwise, it will not heal easily. Along with the medicines mentioned above, I suggest applying a mixture of 3.3 fl oz neem oil, 3.3 fl oz sesame oil, and 1.75 oz turmeric powder. Apply all these on your skin twice a day regularly. Take these medicines for four weeks if you want to wait for some time. Then do consult me after one month for further ayurvedic medicine.

I hope you find my answer helpful.

Thank you.
