Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 30 years old and suffering from a cervical degenerative space issue. I have neck pain, numbness, and a tingling sensation in both hands. Is there any ayurvedic medicine or oil to cure this issue? Please suggest some home remedies also.

Answered by Dr. Revathi. T. S.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It is curable through Ayurveda but requires consistent effort for at least three to six months with a strict diet and lifestyle modifications. Other than this issue, do you have any associated health conditions like diabetes, hypertension, headache, or digestive issues? Can you please mention your appetite, bowel movements, sleep pattern, and food habits?

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor for the reply,

I do not have diabetes and hypertension, but sometimes my BP goes up to 150 mm of Hg due to anxiety. I have headaches and neck pain. I avoid sugar and eat healthy foods daily. Can you please advise me on how to prevent diseases like diabetes and hypertension in the future?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I suggest you stop taking milk products, coffee, tea, fruits, fruit juices, curd, smoothie, and cold water. Avoid applying oil or cream on your scalp. Do not take any pain medications. Do not sleep in the daytime. Do not be awake after 10:00 pm. Continue with your exercises. Do not hold your natural urges like urine, gas, or stools. For ten minutes, boil three liters of water with a pinch of dry ginger powder and eight pinches of dry roasted coriander seeds powder. Store in a flask and drink one fl oz every half to two hours.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor for the reply,

I am following your suggested steps and it has helped me a lot. Can you please suggest the further treatment ? Also from last five days I was not able to sleep properly.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

If your body pain, headache, and all are reduced, and your appetite is very good, then follow the regimens or continue the previous regimens for another three days. Now you can start eating wheat and vegetables like snake gourd, ridge gourd, cluster beans, and bottle gourd. You can take rice gruel and khara pongal (a rice lentil dish). You can also eat pulses but avoid milk products.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor for the reply,

Neck pain is almost in control. Numbness and tingling sensation happen only when I bend my hand for a long time and put pressure on the elbow. Bowel movements are in control, and I do not have any constipation. Sleep pattern is always an issue for me. Can you please advise me on that?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I would suggest you continue the things above for the next three to five days. I suggest you take around two table spoons of Kottamchukkadi choornam (Devdaru, Kushta, Rasna, and ginger), two table spoons of Masha Saindava Taila, two table spoons of powdered rock salt, and two to three tablespoons of thick tamarind juice. Mix everything in a bowl, and heat on boiling water (double boil method). Apply on your neck region, slightly massage then apply a warm thick above paste (about 0.4" thickness). Cover it with a bandage cloth and surgical plaster. Apply it at night time and remove it next morning. It should remain on your neck region for at least 10 to 12 hours. Remove it and clean the area with warm water. If you feel its messy at night, apply it during day time and remove before sleeping. Avoid using gadgets for at least two hours before your sleep time. Try doing meditation and deep breathing exercise.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
