Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have a dandruff issue. Scaly dandruff is seen at the back of my head near the neck. Due to dandruff, I always have small, bumpy pimples on my forehead and face. Now I also face hair fall and breakage. My hair is curly, and my face skin is oily and sensitive. I wash my hair every alternate day, and I wash off whatever oil I apply with shampoo, as leaving oil on my hair causes me a sinus headache. I had been using two bottles of Ayurvedic oil twice a week. Though it reduced my hair fall, I did not see a change in the dandruff issue. Instead, it caused more and more small pimples on my forehead. Does it show that I have an oily scalp? I want to go for ayurvedic or natural remedies for my dandruff problem and hair fall and breakage. If my dandruff gets cured, I am sure my face will also get acne-free. What should I do to get my hair and face fine? Kindly help.
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
Dandruff usually occurs if you have dehydrated skin or can also happen in excess oily skin. If you have a dry dandruff problem, I would suggest the following.
I also suggest the medications below for three months.
1. Dhurdhurapatradi thailam containing coconut oil and juice extract of leaves of Datura metel (for head massage).
2. Mahatiktam Kashayam (containing neem, golden turmeric, white sandalwood, etc.) twice daily.
3. Triphala Churna (combination of three fruits such as hog plum, beleric myrobalan, and gooseberry): 1 teaspoon in warm water before bed.
Please consult your specialist doctor, discuss this with them, and start taking the medicines with their consent.
I hope this helps.
Please revert so I can assist you further.
Thank you.
