Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have difficulties with bowel movements, as it is hard for me to pass stool. I have been on Ayurvedic medication for several months, but I still experience issues when trying to pass stool. How can I address this?
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I went through your query.
When laxatives are consumed for a long time, the intestines depend on them. So, I suggest you follow the instructions mentioned below.
1. Do not leave medicine instantly. Stop the medicines gradually. First of all, reduce the dose of medicine and then start taking it on alternate days. This way it would be easier for you to get rid of it. Do all this in approximately one month.
2. Along with this, improve your diet and lifestyle.
3. Adopt a diet that is higher in fiber. Include salads and fresh fruits as part of your meals.
4. Do regular walks.
5. Drink plenty of water.
6.If you occasionally pass hard stool and experience pain, sit in a tub filled with lukewarm water for ten minutes afterward.
Try to incorporate all of these practices regularly, and you will soon notice positive results.
Hope it helps.
Thank you.
