Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am 32 years old and delivered a baby two months ago. My issue is that I experience bleeding due to hard stools. I am currently taking Anuloma DS tablets. If I stop taking the tablets, my stools become hard again, and the bleeding resumes. Should I continue taking this medicine regularly, given that my baby is still small?
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Definitely, you should be cautious about any medications you take during the lactation period, as they may affect your baby's health. Constipation is a common issue during pregnancy and after delivery, so it is best to manage it naturally. Anuloma DS is a good Ayurvedic proprietary medicine that acts as a laxative, but it contains senna, which may also affect the baby. You can try taking Triphala churna (amlaki, haritaki, and vibhitaki) 0.11 ounces or two tablets with warm water after meals.
In addition, you should consider changing your lifestyle and food habits. Regular yoga and exercise can help regulate your metabolism and bowel movements as well.
I hope this helps you.
Thank you.
